Five Suspects Arrested in Drug Raids, Accused of Distributing Prescription Drugs in Hudson County, NJ

Two major drug raids by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office netted multiple arrests of suspects accused of distributing prescription drugs throughout New Jersey.
According to law enforcement, the drug ring operated primarily in Hudson County and sold Xanax and oxycodone on the street, with some illegal drug sales being made in Monmouth County and Hudson County.
Authorities started an investigation into the illegal drug operation after receiving a tip about prescription drugs being sold in large quantity across Hudson County. Several agencies worked together on the subsequent investigation, including the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, the Hazlet Police Department, and the Kearny Police Department.
During the lengthy investigation into the suspects, undercover police officers reportedly purchased prescription medication on multiple occasions from the suspects. The illegal drug sales allegedly occurred in Hackensack, Kearny, and Newark, NJ.
Law enforcement eventually had enough evidence to get search warrants and arrest warrants in the drug case.
The drug raid was carried out over two days. On the first day, officers with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office arrested four people accused of selling prescription medication in Hudson County. The suspects included three men and one woman.
The next day, authorities raided a house in Hazlet New Jersey and arrested a 36-year-old man. While searching the suspect’s residence, law enforcement allegedly discovered more than 200 doses of Xanax and approximately eight ounces of marijuana. Police also reportedly found $1,000 in cash, which is believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug activity. In addition to seizing the drugs and the money found at the residence, Hudson County police also seized the suspect’s motor vehicle because he allegedly used the car to transport the narcotics for illegal drug sales.
