Monmouth County Law Enforcement Setting up DWI Checkpoint This Weekend
Law enforcement in Monmouth County will be setting up a DWI checkpoint to catch intoxicated drivers this weekend.
The DWI checkpoint will be in place on Route 33 in Neptune NJ and is scheduled to run between 11:00 p.m. on Friday night and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Police officers with the Neptune Police Department and members of the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be in charge of the drunk driving checkpoint, pulling over motor vehicles heading westbound on the highway and checking the drivers for signs of intoxication. Motorists will be instructed to drive to the parking lot of Jumping Brook Plaza, where Neptune NJ police officers will make sure that the drivers are not operating their cars while intoxicated or high on drugs.
The Monmouth County DWI Task Force is a multi-agency task force that makes a point of cutting down on drunk driving accidents throughout the county. The DUI task force coordinator is also the chief of the Brielle Police Department, while other members of the task force come from other police departments in Monmouth County.
