Fatal Car Crash on NJ Turnpike in Cranbury, New Jersey

A Virginia woman was tragically killed in a scary car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury, NJ.
The auto accident occurred a short time after 12:00 a.m. on the NJ Turnpike. The victim, a resident of Gloucester County, Virginia, was driving her Toyota Corolla on the highway and headed north on the highway when she approached mile marker 69 in Cranbury, New Jersey. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle as she nearer the milepost and slammed into a guardrail that is meant to keep the inner road and outer road separate from one another.
The force of impact with the guardrail caused the woman’s vehicle to flip over in the middle of the highway. The car was then struck by another vehicle, a 2011 Jaguar, being operated by a driver who reportedly did not have enough time to avoid a collision.
Other motorists saw the accident and dialed 911 to alert local law enforcement. Cranbury NJ police officers and New Jersey State troopers rushed to the scene, where they found the Virginia woman unconscious and still inside her Toyota. Emergency medical crews later pronounced her dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Jaguar that struck and killed the Virginia motorist was a 48-year-old man from Jersey City, NJ. He did not sustain any serious injuries in the motor vehicle accident.
NJ State Police is investigating the fatal car accident and attempting to determine exactly what may have caused the deceased motorist to lose control of her car in the first place. At this time, the Jersey City man driving the other car involved in the accident has not been criminally charged, nor has he been cited for any traffic violations.
