Ivanka Trump Scarves Recalled due to Risk of Burns

Scarves manufactured under Ivanka Trump’s brand label have been recalled due to serious health risks posed to consumers.
Approximately 20,000 rayon scarves that were sold between October 2014 and January 2016 are subject to the product recall. The scarves, which range in price from $12 all the way up to $68, were sold over the Internet via Amazon and in department stores, like Lord & Taylor, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, across the United States.
The product recall was not voluntary. Instead, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall because the scarves were found to be flammable. The CPSC specifically noted that the recalled scarves “do not meet the flammability standards for clothing textiles.” As a result, said the CPSC, the scarves pose a significant risk of burns and other injuries to consumers.
Trump, who is the daughter of current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has not commented directly on the defective products. However, a spokeswoman for her company, which manufactures various items of clothing, as well as accessories and perfumes, issued a statement via e-mail. In the statement, the Ivanka Trump company representative expressed disappointment in the need for the recall and noted that the company is taking immediate steps to fix the manufacturing problem.
At this time, no injuries have been reported by consumers of the Ivanka Trump scarves. Nonetheless, anyone who has purchased one of the affected scarves should stop wearing the clothing item and return it to the store for a full refund.
