Ocean County NJ Drug Bust Nets Five Arrests, Large Amount of Heroin

Law enforcement recently conducted a major drug bust and arrested five Ocean County residents who allegedly possessed large quantities of heroin and multiple illegal weapons.
Authorities opened an investigation into the suspects after receiving tips about an illegal drug operation that was distributing narcotics, such as heroin, throughout Ocean County, NJ. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group worked with numerous local law enforcement agencies and police departments to investigate the alleged drug distribution network for two months. At the end of the investigation, officials obtained search warrants and arrest warrants.
Police officers executed the search warrants at a home located on Arcadia Court in Jackson NJ and a residence located on Davina Court in Lakewood NJ. While searching the residences, Ocean County detectives reportedly discovered more than 6,200 doses of heroin and a number of firearms, including a Mac 10 submachine gun. Police officers also reportedly seized approximately $90K in cash believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales.
Detectives also executed search warrants to go through three motor vehicles that investigators believe were being used to transport the heroin. While pulling over one of the vehicles, a 2009 black Maxima, police observed the driver attempt to elude officers and flee the scene on foot. Detectives gave chase and quickly subdued the suspect, who was later identified as a 31-year-old man who lived at the Arcadia Court residence. A subsequent search of the car allegedly turned up 1,800 doses of heroin, as well as a small amount of cocaine.
Officers with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department also arrested a woman who allegedly tried to run from the Arcadia Court home as police executed a search warrant. The woman, a 24-year-old resident of Jackson NJ, was subsequently apprehended and charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and simple possession of marijuana.
Law enforcement arrested three other people during the drug bust. Those suspects include a 32-year-old man from Lakewood New Jersey, a 34-year-old woman from Brick Township NJ, and a 53-year-old woman from Brick Township. The suspects were initially detained by authorities while driving a motor vehicle in Lakewood and later placed under arrest when police allegedly discovered them in possession of several thousand doses of heroin and a machine gun with a loaded ammunition magazine.
While announcing the arrests, the chairman of the NJ County Commanders Association praised investigators and law enforcement for helping to get illegal drugs off the streets in Ocean County, New Jersey.
