Emergency personnel from several local agencies assisted in helping the students in the scary moments after the car accident. Students were medically evaluated at the scene, and anyone who appeared to have injuries was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, everyone admitted to the hospital, including 21 students and three adults, were cleared to return home by the evening. The summer day camp has been in constant communication with the camper’s families throughout the whole ordeal.
Police have begun an initial investigation into what caused the accident, but they have not released any public details about the bus accident. Observations reported by witnesses indicate there were at least four buses involved in multiple rear-end collisions, and the damage sustained to several of the buses was severe enough that they had to be towed away.
